Holly Gore Awarded a 2018 Craft Research Fund Project Grant

Holly Gore, Ph.D Candidate, has been awarded a 2018 Craft Research Fund Project Grant from the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design in support of her dissertation, “Reinventing Work: Modernist Wood and Skilled Trade, 1940-1970,” which investigates how modernist woodworkers posited new forms of skilled labor. Since 2005, the Center for Craft’s Craft Research Fund grant program has advanced and expanded research about craft in the United States by supporting innovative research on critical issues in craft theory and history, the exploration of the inter-relationship among craft, art, design and contemporary culture, and new cross-disciplinary approaches to scholarship in the craft field.
